About
GEOINT is the abbreviation for geospatial intelligence, an analysis of images and data associated with a specific location. GEOINT uses imagery to survey and assess human activity and physical geography anywhere on earth. GEOINT was initially a project by the U.S. military and is now used in both academia and commercial enterprises to solve geographic problems.
The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is a nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to promoting the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and developing a stronger GEOINT Community with government, industry, academia, professional organizations, and individuals who develop and apply geospatial intelligence to address national security challenges.
USGIF sponsors events and programs, such as the highly acclaimed GEOINT Symposium. USGIF is dedicated to bringing together the disciplines involved in geospatial intelligence to exchange ideas, share best practices, and promote the education and importance of a national geospatial intelligence agenda.
