Handheld Strengthens Management with Industry Veteran Jim Rimay
[Lidköping, Sweden, April 28, 2015.] Handheld Group, a leading global manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, today announced the appointment of Jim Rimay as new Vice President of Sales for its North American subsidiary. Rimay, who has joined the Handheld US management team, has decades of experience as an executive and sales manager in the rugged computing industry.
As the new Vice President of Sales, Jim Rimay will lead sales efforts for the North American market.
“This is a key appointment for Handheld US. We have seen an increasing demand for our rugged devices from North American customers, and we’re planning for an even faster expansion and greater footprint in this important market in coming years,” says Dale Kyle, CEO of Handheld US. “Jim’s vast experience will make him a very valuable member of our team moving forward — he has exactly the qualifications and personal traits we’re looking for.”
Rimay most recently held a position with Motion Computing. Prior to this, he served as President of Getac North America for six years. He is also the former Vice President of Americas Sales with Walkabout Computers, a developer of Microsoft Windows-based ruggedized tablet and PCs. After DRS Technologies, Inc. acquired Walkabout, Rimay became Vice President of Business Development for DRS Tactical Systems.
"I am excited to become part of the Handheld family and to contribute to the continued growth of what is already a remarkable success story,” Rimay says. “With Handheld’s broad portfolio of ultra-rugged products, I see enormous potential for even stronger growth in the North American market going forward.”
Handheld’s lineup of rugged tablets, notebooks and handheld computers is specifically developed for field workers in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, utilities, construction, maintenance, mining, military and security.
